What is a watchlist?

A watchlist is a set of companies, be it competitors, suppliers, or prospects, that you want to have visibility on. GlobalData’s watchlists make it easier for you to collect and monitor intelligence across the companies you are most interested in.

Create a watchlist

You can create a watchlist with our Competitive Intelligence Tool. Find this under the ‘Tools’ tab at the top of the Intelligence Center, as below:

From here, you can either create a watchlist from scratch in using the Company Search option, or upload your own list from an Excel file and map against your company listing with the Upload Watchlist option. This means you can import previous lists you’ve created for a more stream-lined experience.

If you want to create from scratch, just click ‘Add Companies’, name your watchlist, and then add up to 1000 companies of your choosing by typing their names in the ‘Add companies’ box.

Otherwise, you can upload a file directly from your computer in Upload Company Watchlist, or you can download a watchlist template and add your companies to an excel file that way, if easier.

Remember to save your watchlists!

Keeping track of your watchlists

You can track your watchlists via the Competitive Intelligence Tool as shown above, or you can find it in the My Watchlists section. Navigate here by hovering over the profile icon in the top right-hand corner of your IC, clicking My GlobalData, then My Watchlist, as below.

From here, you will be able to view, explore, edit, share, and delete your watchlists, as well as manage any alerts you are receiving.
